Milton Keynes (UK),May 28, 2009 - Gleichmann Sunrise has now added NEC Electronics’ NL8060BC31-47D - 12.1-inch TFT LCD -, one of the first displays with long-life LEDs, to its product portfolio.

The operating life until reaching only 50 percent brightness is specified by NEC Electronics with a minimum of 70,000 hours at room temperature and 60,000 hours at a temperature of 70°C. In addition to long-life of the LED backlight and a power consumption of 5.1 W typical, the NL8060BC31-47D also features a high resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and wide viewing angles of 160° horizontally and 140° vertically. With an operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C, the 12.1-inch TFT LCD is suited for many industrial applications.

With the new NL10276BC20-18 - 10.4-inch TFT LCD with LED backlight and XGA resolution -, particular emphasis was given to the smallest possible dimensions. With overall dimensions of 228 mm x 178.5 mm x 8.7 mm, the panel - which is also designed for an operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C - is one of the smallest and thinnest in the category industrial displays. A typical brightness of 400 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 900:1 ensure brilliant images.

The NL10276BC30-34D - 15.0-inch TFT LCD with LED backlight and a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels - is also brand-new on the market. The panel, compliant with the PSWG standard and thus dimensions compatible with previous CCFL versions, features among other things ultra-wide viewing angles of 180° both vertically and horizontally. The operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C, 400 cd/m² brightness and a contrast ratio of 500:1, typical for all industrial displays from NEC Electronics, underline the wide application possibilities of these high-end 15-inch displays.

All displays can be controlled optionally with 6-bits or 8-bits via a LVDS interface and the backlights with the aid of a simple LED driver circuit. As usual with industrial displays from NEC Electronics, the backlight for the three new models is also problem-free replaceable. LED backlights are mercury-free and consequently unproblematic for the environment.

Furthermore, the new panels feature a long-term availability. According to NEC Electronics, end-of-life notices will be issued at least 24 months before the end of production and repair parts should be available for three years after the end of production.

Data sheets of the new displays are now available from Gleichmann Sunrise and samples are available upon request.
